New pathways open in the park!
October 28, 2025
Ballard Park has just completed the first phase of an accessibility project designed to make enjoying the park easier and safer for visitors. The porous pathways at the top of the hill provide an entrance to the park from Main Street, and lead to picnic tables and seating areas, the Memorial Garden, and the newly-leveled lawn where the skating rink will be assembled.
Please look out for the remaining “Keep Off The Grass” signs. Help us allow the grass to fill in as much as possible before the winter snows arrive. Thank you!

PAST EVENTS
2025 Summer Concert Series
Thursdays at 7pm, Jul 10 - Aug 14
Spend a beautiful summer evening on Ballard Park’s grassy hillside overlooking Lake Champlain listening to FREE concerts in the Pavilion by some of the finest musicians from the Adirondacks, Lake Champlain region, New England, and Quebec.
Picnicking is encouraged! Food for purchase from Winton’s 1898 Tavern is served from the park’s Warming Hut at the corner of Main Street and Washington Street. Bring blankets or low chairs for seating across our hillside, and participate in a voluntary raffle that raises funds for the park and earns the winner a prize.
We look forward to seeing you on the hill!
Shakespeare in the Park

Adirondack Regional Theatre presents a free performance of William Shakespeare’s enchanting A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Ballard Park. Family-friendly and inclusive, ART’s 90-minute adaptation by director Mason Barber ensures that all ages will enjoy the rollicking story of four Athenian lovers, a fairy kingdom, and a group of amateur actors, all intertwined by magic and mistaken identities.
Adirondack Regional Theatre, a multi-generational community theatre company based in Plattsburgh, is committed to delivering top-notch theatrical performances. Since its beginnings in 2000, ART has been a staple of North Country summers, performing outdoors in Plattsburgh’s Lions Club Band Shell, at the foot of MacDonough Monument on the banks of the Saranac River, at Clinton Community College, The Strand, and more. An estimated 125,000 North Country residents have enjoyed ART’s productions over the years.
